Contingent Commitments: Bringing Part-Time Faculty Into Focus

Examines data drawn from the Community College Faculty Survey of Student Engagement (CCFSSE), which is administered to faculty teaching credit courses in the academic term during which the college is participating in the Community College Survey of Student Engagement (CCSSE). The faculty survey elicits instructors’ perceptions about student experiences as well as reports about their teaching practices and use of professional time. The report aims to help colleges improve engagement with part-time faculty so more students have access to the experiences that will lead to success.
