On January 9-10, 2018, the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Safe and Healthy Students (OSHS) led a convening in Washington, DC with 48 Program State Coordinators from across the United States and outlying areas. During the one day and a half meeting, Title IV, Part A, Student Support & Academic Enrichment (SSAE) Program State Coordinators learned and discussed SSAE program implementation, monitoring, and reporting; shared their approaches to the SSAE program; conversed about resources and technical assistance available to States; and built networks with fellow State Coordinators and federal staff.

Data on How SEAs Are Implementing Title IV, Part A, SSAE Funds

During the meeting, participants shared information on how they are administering their Title IV, Part A, SSAE funds to-date. As of January 10:

  • Most States are choosing to distribute Title IV, Part A, SSAE funds by formula.
    See Figure 1.
  • Most States have released their 2018 application for Title IV, Part A, SSAE funding.
    See Figure 2.
  • Most States have awarded SSAE Title IV, Part A, SSAE funding to States.
    See Figure 3.
