The Emergency Management Institute (EMI) is hosting the 19th Annual Emergency Management Higher Education Symposium June 5-8, 2017. The symposium brings together representatives of colleges and universities which: (1) Have an existing hazard, disaster, emergency management (EM) program in place or (2) Are attempting to develop and implement a hazard, disaster, or EM program on their campus (e.g., a degree, certificate, minor, or concentration).
The symposium provides an environment to network with other academics, gain exposure to successful programs and research, learn about new resources and approaches, and hear from practitioners and policy makers. The symposium will be held at the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s National Emergency Training Center (NETC) in Emmitsburg, Maryland – about 75 miles northwest of Washington, DC. This year’s topics are based on the overall theme of Emergency Management Higher Education: Meeting Community Needs.
