The Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP) has the potential to support millions of college students, especially those experiencing food insecurity. Yet many students who are eligible for SNAP do not use it. With support from the Michelson 20MM Foundation, The Hope Center for College, Community, and Justice partnered with Compton College to pilot a low-cost intervention aimed at closing this "SNAP gap." In fall 2021, students at Compton College received text messages with timely and relevant information about SNAP. Can text messages be used to connect students to public benefits like SNAP? Join this webinar as we present findings from this pilot intervention and discuss how they can be leveraged by colleges and government. Register.
