Alcohol misuse remains a significant public health challenge. Research on recovery from alcohol use disorder (AUD) is an important priority for the NIAAA. NIAAA-supported research efforts have led to advancements that range from broad improvements in understanding recovery to the development of practical tools to treat AUD and support individuals in recovery.
