America’s public schools have been working to ensure the healthy development and academic achievement of our young people for decades. More recently our schools have been focused on addressing additional needs of students, such as physical and mental health needs. Schools cannot address the needs of the whole young person alone but must work in collaboration with community resources. Full-Service Community Schools work in partnership with community-based organizations, the private sector, and in public partnerships to provide wraparound services to all students. They have been shown to contribute to increased student attendance, on-time grade progression, and high school graduation.
In this webinar, our speakers described the Full-Service Community Schools model, discussed key elements of the approach, and shared information on how communities and schools can leverage diverse funding streams to support the development and implementation of the Full-Service Community Schools approach.
