On behalf of the U.S. Department of Education (ED)/Office of Safe and Healthy Students, the National Center on Safe Supportive Learning Environments (NCSSLE) hosted the second grantee Office Hours event for Project Prevent and Elementary and Secondary School Counseling grantees.
This Office Hours event focused on implementing Cognitive Behavioral Interventions for Trauma in Schools (CBITS) and Check and Connect, two evidence-based programs ED grantees commonly implement. During this session we were joined by:
- Sharon Stephan from the University of Maryland-Baltimore, Center for School Mental Health, who spoke with particpants about implementing CBITS.
- Jana Hallas from the University of Minnesota, Institute on Community Integration, who spoke about implementing Check & Connect.
Grantees implementing at least one of these two programs via their grant had the opportunity to speak directly with Sharon and Jana about common implementation challenges.
