While the assessment can be completed more frequently, the statute requires that it be completed once every three years.     The U.S. Department of Education (Department) is in the process of developing a comprehensive LEA needs assessment tool State Coordinators could use to fulfill this requirement. State Coordinators may opt to adapt the tool for their use, require their LEAs to use the tool, offer the tool as an option for LEAs, or use an alternative tool or resource. The Department is hosting a meeting, in partnership with the National Center on Safe Supportive Learning Environments (NCSSLE), among the SSAE Title IV-A Data and Technical Assistance Working Group members to describe the draft indicators and tool, answer questions, and get initial feedback.  Please register to participate.  Upon registration, you will receive an email confirmation from NCSSLE with log in information.  NCSSLE will also send a reminder to all who register the day of the call.    noreply@air.org America/New_York public
