Web-Based Data and TA Working Group Call on the SSAE, Title IV, Part A LEA Needs Assessment
The Student Support and Academic Enrichment, Title IV, Part A (SSAE Title IV-A) State Coordinators are required to ensure that LEAs receiving an award of $30,000 or greater conduct a comprehensive needs assessment that informs the selection of the proposed activities in their application. While the assessment can be completed more frequently, the statute requires that it be completed once every three years.
The U.S. Department of Education (Department) is in the process of developing a comprehensive LEA needs assessment tool State Coordinators could use to fulfill this requirement. State Coordinators may opt to adapt the tool for their use, require their LEAs to use the tool, offer the tool as an option for LEAs, or use an alternative tool or resource.
The Department is hosting a meeting, in partnership with the National Center on Safe Supportive Learning Environments (NCSSLE), among the SSAE Title IV-A Data and Technical Assistance Working Group members to describe the draft indicators and tool, answer questions, and get initial feedback.
Please register to participate. Upon registration, you will receive an email confirmation from NCSSLE with log in information. NCSSLE will also send a reminder to all who register the day of the call.
