Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo will receive $60,000 over two years as part of a larger program to support students who are also parents, according to a Cal Poly news release. The campus was selected as one of nine to participate in the program, and the funding will come from the Urban Institute’s Data-to-Action Campaign for Parenting Students. As part of the program, faculty and staff members in both the school of education and the Students with Dependents Program will collect data about student parents. That data, according to the release, would be used to support the students in their educational pursuits, with a special focus on single mothers.
