Campus Shutdowns Create New Burdens For First-Generation Students

The tolling of college bells sounds lonely now that a pandemic has nearly emptied the campus at Boston College. College students across the country got the same assignment: go home and continue online. But some campuses made exceptions for students who couldn’t return home or faced hardship.
