Chenango Forks receives nearly $500,000 in funding to keep schools safe

Nearly $500,000 in federal funding has been awarded to Chenango Forks School District to create a safer learning environment for students and staff, including emergency management, communication software, and social emotional wellness and character education programs. The $475,000 grant is available through the Department of Justice BJA FY 2023 Preventing School Violence initiative. This initiative works to enhance school security by providing teachers and students with the tools needed to respond, recognize, and prevent acts of violence.
