Healthy relationships: During the ‘Red Zone,’ more conversations needed around sexual assault

As people are entering the world of pumpkin-spice everything and digging out sweatshirts, it is also a different time of year, one those in the violence prevention field know all too well: the Red Zone. The Red Zone is the first 6-8 weeks of the fall semester when more than 50% of sexual assaults involving college students occur across the country. Some might say there is a bubble around our Happy Valley but let us be honest— there is a lot that happens inside the bubble. There is no community immune to sexual assault and no campus free of sexual assault and other acts of violence.
