Low levels of alcohol consumption still pose health risk, research shows

A research study published in November 2022 reveals that drinking even small amounts of alcohol can pose a serious health risk, raising concerns over college students’ awareness of the perils of alcohol consumption. “I don’t think most college students are aware of what excessive drinking or high-risk drinking is and the dangers associated with it,” said Kerri Mahoney, an assistant director for Stony Brook University’s Center for Prevention and Outreach.
