Countering School Pushout and the Criminalization of Girls of Color

Examines the pathways to school pushout and confinement for girls of color, particularly African American girls (who are consistently over-represented in school discipline categories). The session will also explore key concepts and strategies to reduce the criminalization of these girls and repair their relationships with schools.
