Highlights findings from the 2014 Monitoring the Future survey of drug use and attitudes among American 8th, 10th, and 12th graders. The survey found a significant drop in the past-year use of cough/cold medicines containing dextromethorphan (DXM) among 8th graders, with only 2.0 percent using them for non-medical reasons, down from 2.9 percent in 2013 and 3.8 percent in 2009.
