Nearly 600,000 public university students in New York will soon be required to get vaccination booster shots as part of the state’s stepped-up effort to combat a record-breaking coronavirus outbreak.

Fraternities and sororities are an increasingly controversial part of the college experience at many American universities. On Monday, Cornell University suspended all parties and social events hosted by fraternities after campus police said one student reported a sexual assault and another four reported their drinks were allegedly drugged.

Chanel Powell served five years in the Army National Guard, including one year in Iraq, before it was time to retire her military gear and head back to college to fulfill her dream of becoming a lawyer. The U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights (OCR) today announced the resolution of all nine pending complaints against the City University of New York (CUNY), the CUNY Central Office (Central Office), and the following CUNY colleges and schools: Hunter College (Hunter), CUNY School of Law (the Law School), Brooklyn College (Brooklyn), Queens College (Queens), and Baruch College (Baruch).
