DC-area colleges, universities come together to research ways to combat gun violence

A group of D.C. area colleges and universities are joining together to research ways to reduce gun violence. This coalition of schools, called the 120 Initiative, will explore topics such as social economic issues, impacts of technology, and interactions between law and society.

Coe College receives grant for prison learning initiative

Coe College has received a $15,350 Institutionalizing Community-Based Pedagogies grant from the Associated Colleges of the Midwest. The grant will support the creation of a new Prison Learning Initiative at Coe which will provide a range of high-impact experiences for students and community members to learn about and become involved with the criminal-legal system in Iowa and the Midwest.
