Student parents need better childcare options

While the childcare crisis affects families nationwide—especially those with low incomes—some individuals have particularly unmet childcare needs: student parents. For the nearly 5 million student parents who make up 26 percent of all undergraduates, childcare can be a significant barrier to college enrollment and completion. In response, some colleges are partnering with community-based providers to offer quality childcare options for their students.
