This week, Valencia College opened up a new food pantry to help students struggling with food insecurity. The pantry is called VCentials and looks and feels a lot like a small grocery store. The college got a nearly $400,000 four-year grant from the Florida Blue Foundation to build student food pantries. Second Harvest Food Bank provides the food, including fresh produce. Valencia opened up the first VCentials on their West campus on Tuesday.
