Counties and colleges partner in support of student basic needs

As approximately 50 percent of college students grapple with food insecurities across the state of California, help could be on the horizon with the newly implemented Assembly Bill 1326. The bill ensures counties and college campuses work together to support college student basic needs by asking each county welfare department to designate at least one staff member to serve as a point of contact for public higher education campuses and provide information on programs and services offered by the county to students.
